Ingredients
  

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls bocconcini or ciliegine
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 –3 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper

Equipment

  • 20 Appetizer Skewers 4-inch wooden or decorative skewers
  • 1 Serving Platter White or marble platter for presentation
  • 1 Small Mixing Bowl For olive oil and seasoning

Method
 

  1. Pat the mozzarella balls dry with a paper towel.
    8 oz fresh mozzarella balls
  2. Thread one cherry tomato, one basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball onto each appetizer skewer.
    1 pint cherry tomatoes, 20 fresh basil leaves, 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls
  3. Arrange the skewers neatly on a serving platter.
  4. Drizzle lightly with olive oil.

  5. Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

  6. Just before serving, drizzle balsamic glaze over the skewers. Serve chilled or at cool room temperature.

Notes

Make Ahead Tip:
Assemble the skewers up to 6 hours in advance and store covered in the refrigerator. Wait to drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze until just before serving.
Serving Tip:
Serve chilled or at cool room temperature for best flavor and texture.
Ingredient Substitutions:
• Use grape tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes
• Ciliegine or bocconcini mozzarella both work well
• Swap balsamic glaze for a thick balsamic reduction
Presentation Idea:
